Being near the sea is something that is always special to me. The sea is poetic, it can invoke a wide range of emotions. Awe, joy, fear, peace, sorrow, the range is unbound. For me, this image represents serenity, it was a beautiful moment of calm. Although this was a local beach, the location and time are irrelevant.
As I explore my artistic expression, I have reminded myself that images can speak to you in a variety of ways. Location is the more obvious one. But beyond nostalgia, the connection can be one of emotion, or aspiration. By labelling myself as an artist, as well as a photographer. I feel that I have liberated myself in the way that I view my photographic work and what I can share.
