The sand dunes at Braunton Burrows in North Devon are wonderful to walk in. You can submerse yourself in the landscape and imagine that you are a million miles from anywhere, with nothing but the distant sounds of the ocean for company.
As darkness begins its’ daily reign the mood can feel altogether different. The movement of distant marram grass blowing in the wind plays tricks on your eyes, while your other senses heighten. The feeling of being insignificant in the universe grows, and you can feel altogether exposed. Of course, there is nothing to fear. We are safe and there is even a path guiding us to where we need to get to.
