I took this photo of Nun’s Cross Farm on Dartmoor after the sun had disappeared below the horizon. I love the subtle twilight tones as the night crept across the moor. The colours were beautiful in every direction as I made my way to the car for the long drive home. You can see this photo larger in the Dartmoor Gallery.
The sun dips below the horizon before the official sunset times
If you head there yourself to take photos it is worth bearing in mind that the sun dips below the horizon before the official sunset times due to the hills around it. I am looking forward to visiting here for sunrise at some point for another perspective. This was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 17-40L using a Cokin Z Pro ND8 soft graduated filter.
