I knew a sunrise was out of the question as I planned my jaunt to Fingle Bridge on Dartmoor National Park. The great thing about photographing autumnal scenes is that I could still get by without the golden hours of a stunning sunrise. Of course, it would have been nice to see one. I was hoping to get a little fog but that didn’t materialise either. Unperturbed I began to make my way along the River Teign, looking for compositions. Fingle Bridge is stunning throughout the year, but in the autumn, the valley is awash with vivid colours and stunning scenes that attract visitors from miles around.
I liked the scene in the image above; especially with the contrast in colour between the golden leave son one tree, and the green leaves on the one beside it that clung to summer. I think the moss laden boulders in the foreground complete the scene.
