I’m lucky to have two national parks and the coast surrounding me. It presents a lot of different photographic opportunities in all weather. This photo is from Exmoor National Park on a particularly windy day. It is one of the hawthorn trees up on Winsford Hill. Winsford Hill is a great spot that has some fantastic views of the Exmoor countryside. Looking at this image I can instantly remember the feeling of how cold and windy it was and how moody the landscape looked. I don’t think much is sharp in this image at all. However, if it was all tack sharp there would be no way of conveying the cold, windy feeling that I felt when there. I think it really works in black and white.
